Description of the Project

My project shows a pink women and a blue man shaking hands making their hand color violet to show that men and women are created equal.

List of Ideas

My ten theoreticl ideas include: 1.) “American women are just as reluctant as American men to struggle for a new society based on new values of mutual respect, cooperation and social responsibility.” (Feminism: A Movement to End Sexist Opression), 2.) “the elimination of violence in the home and the development of shelters for battered women” (Feminism: A Movement to End Sexist Opression), 3.) “support for women’s business” (Feminism: A Movement to End Sexist Opression), 4.) “a policy of full employment so that all women who wish and are able to work may do so” (Feminism: A Movement to End Sexist Opression), 5.)  “an end to the sexist portrayal of women in the media” (Feminism: A Movement to End Sexist Opression), 6.) “a remedy to the double discrimination against minority women” (Feminism: A Movement to End Sexist Opression), 7.) “a revision of criminal codes dealing with rape” (Feminism: A Movement to End Sexist Opression), 8.) “elimination of discrimination on the basis of sexual preference” (Feminism: A Movement to End Sexist Opression), 9.) “the establishment of nonsexist education” (Feminism: A Movement to End Sexist Opression), 10.) “an examination of all welfare reform proposals for their specific impact on women” (Feminism: A Movement to End Sexist Opression).

How did you make it?

I first started  to google images about feminism and after a few pages, this picturepopped up and really stood out to me. The main thing that stood out was how the hands turned to purple making the meaning of the picture to stand out. Then, I went and bought a canvas and began to sketch the image adding the heading at the top. After sketching the image I painted it into what it looks like now.

Advice to Others?

Some advice I give is really figure out which reading draws your attention the most and atart researching from there. Also, you need to really understand the readings to compare them to the world around you. There are many other different topics a person can do on this project such as addiction, power, media, etc. A tip to sharethat I used to understand the readings is I re read the article I used many times to fully understand the material.
